Solid Rock Baptist Church is a Baptist Church by conviction, not preference. We are unashamed of our Baptist doctrine, practice, and heritage. We gladly defend the fundamentals of the faith, and we support without compromise the old King James Bible.
We refuse to accept any version that is derived from the Westcott/Hort Greek Text as credible or inspired. We believe in aggressive evangelism, the preservation of God's Word, Christian Education and the local church.
A Biblical Baptist is one who believes in a supernatural Bible, which tells of a supernatural Christ, Who had a supernatural birth, Who spoke supernatural words, Who performed supernatural miracles, Who lived a supernatural life, Who died a supernatural death, Who rose in supernatural splendor, and Who will one day return in supernatural glory to establish a supernatural kingdom on earth.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and that God Himself has preserved it for the English-speaking world in the Authorized King James Version.
We believe that there is one God, the source, support, and end of all things, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; in His Virgin Birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death; in His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the Father's right hand; and in His personal, premillennial return for His saints and with His saints at the Revelation.
We believe that man is totally depraved, a sinner (lost) by nature and by divine decree, therefore in need of the convicting and regenerating ministry of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the personality of Satan; in his power and kingdom; in His wiles; and in his judgment at the cross and his eternal destruction in Hell.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit; that He convicts the sinner; regenerates the one who believes; indwells, seals, instructs, reproves and guides the believer; that He fills and controls every life that is wholly yielded to Him. However, we are not Pentecostals.
We believe that salvation is the gift of God offered to man by His grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved unto "life" and the unsaved unto "judgment" and everlasting damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, not in the organized unity sought by the "ecumenical" movement.
We believe in the special creation of the existing space-time universe and all its basic systems and kinds of organisms in the six literal days of the creation week and in the full historicity and perspicuity of the Biblical record of primeval history. This includes the literal existence of Adam and Eve as the progenitors of all people, the literal fall and resultant divine curse on the creation, the worldwide cataclysmic deluge, and the origin of nations and languages at the tower of Babel.
We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men supernaturally inspired; that it has truth without any admixture of error for its matter; and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the age, the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man, the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.
We believe that the Holy Bible is the verbally, plenarily inspired product of God the Holy Spirit. Further, we hold that God has given and preserved for us that which was originally written in the King James Authorized Version and we hold the KJAV to be without error. This statement of faith can in no way abrogate or amplify our true authority, which is the King James Bible Itself. The KJAV to which we refer contains 66 books that were supernaturally written and we do not refer to any other version or book. It is therefore necessary that no other book be preached or taught. The King James Bible which we hold in our hand is God's perfect word (The Holy Scripture) and is our sole and absolute authority in all matters of faith and practice. -----the doctrine of inspiration and preservation cannot be separated -- they are just as divinely linked as Grace and Faith.
II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21; Acts 1:16; Acts 28:15; Psalm 119:89,105,130,160; Luke 24:25-27; John 17:17; Luke 24:44-45; Proverbs 30:5-6; Romans 3:4; I Peter 1:23; Romans 15:4; Luke 16:31; Psalm 19:7-11; John 5:45-47; John 5:39
We believe that the Scriptures interpreted in their natural, literal sense reveal divinely determined dispensations or rules of life which define man´s responsibilities in successive ages. These dispensations are divinely ordered stewardships by which God directs man according to His purpose. Among these dispensations, three of them-the law, the church, and the kingdom-are the subjects of detailed revelation in Scripture.

Dr. Bryan Gentry, PastorDr. Bryan Gentry is from Lakeland, Florida and received his BA in Pastoral Studies, MS in Bible College Administration and Doctor of Ministries, all from Landmark Baptist College in Haines City, FL. He served on staff at Landmark as Dean of Students from 2004 -2009. Besides teaching Bible, missions and history classes at the college, he has served as assistant pastor, minister of music and, with the help of the others at Landmark Baptist College, has been involved in starting outreach ministries to juvenile correctional facilities in central Florida.
He spent many years as a lay worker in his local Baptist church as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, Outreach director, Sunday School director, soul winner trainer, children's choir leader, etc. The Lord called him into full time Christian service in 1998 at the age of 43 after working 25 years at the phosphate mines in Polk County. He started taking classes at Landmark Baptist College in 1999 and became a fulltime student in the 2000-01 school year. He has been married since 1977 to his kindergarten classmate, Sharon. They have two grown children, Becky (married to Ken Peck) and William Gentry. They also have two grandsons, Carder and Peyton.
Pastor Gentry and his wife, Sharon, moved to the Parkville area from Florida in June 2009 and immediately began working with Fairview Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kansas, and Pastor Jared Shipman for the purpose of starting Solid Rock Baptist Church, which held its first service September 20, 2009. There have been more than 175 people saved since the first door was knocked to plant Solid Rock Baptist Church in June 2009.
We are excited about what God is doing and going to do at Solid Rock Baptist Church.
Solid Rock Baptist Church is a young church in the Northland area of Kansas City, Missouri! SRBC is a church plant out of Fairview Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS led by Pastor Jared Shipman. Our first service was held Sunday, September 20, 2009. Preaching of the Word of God is the main focus of a God-honoring church. We focus on preaching, singing traditional hymns (not rock songs), soul winning and training people how to please God with their lives
Many churches today preach 'cotton-candy' sermons, sweet, created by hot air, and you leave just as empty as you came. SRBC is a church where the Word of God is taught and proclaimed from the pulpit without being watered down or changed. The Word of God is what this world needs! It has the answer for this world's woes. Come see the difference the Word of God can make in your life.

SRBC Location and Service Times:
Today many people look at churches like they are a club or a place to be entertained. Most do not know what a real church is! A Biblical church is local (not governed by a denomination, convention or synod), and its expressed purpose is threefold:
1. To evangelize sinners (encourage
unsaved people to trust Jesus as their
Saviour so they can go to Heaven.
2. To equip the saints (train Christians
how to better serve the Lord with their
lives)
3. Exalt The Saviour (Jesus Christ is the
Creator of all things and provided the
only way for people to miss the Lake of
Fire and go to Heaven.)
In this cold, nasty, dog-eat-dog world we live in it is a joy to
know God has provided a place like Solid Rock Baptist Church
where His people can find sweet fellowship with Him and each
other. It is also a place where we teach people the truth about
eternity. Too many give help for this life, which is good, but they
ignore the greatest need, eternal life. SRBC specializes in eternal
life!
We would like to extend an invitation to those who are seriously
seeking for a church where Jesus is the focus. Once you visit
Solid Rock Baptist Church, Parkville, MO (a northwest Kansas
City suburb) we believe you will want to come back. Solid Rock
Baptist Church was planted in September 2009 because the Lord
wanted people who would do things His way. We still knock on
doors like Jesus commanded. His churches "Go ye
therefore" in Matthew 28:18-20. We do not preach political
correctness, but we "declare unto you all the counsel of God."
We preach the truth about the Lake of Fire, sexual perversion,
sin, Satan, worldliness, Heaven and most of all, how Jesus is the
Only Way To Heaven !
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:21, “Prove all things; hold
fast that which is good.” We not only believe that the Bible is
true, but we will prove the Bible is true! Jesus started the local
church while He was on the earth because He knew we needed
support and encouragement from other believers who really care.
We hope you will visit Solid Rock Baptist Church soon! We
believe you will find in us what you are looking for in a church!
