The Importance of Sunday School

As a new church we are beginning slow, however, we do intend on Sunday School being an important part of our effort to teach the Bible. We will begin having Sunday School as soon as we are able, in the meantime, we will be teaching through the preaching of the Word of God during our regular services. We encourage those who wish to know more about the Bible (the Only Flawless Book ever written) to attend our Wednesday evening service at 7 pm. You will enjoy the sweet fellowship with God's people and if you are not sure you are going to Heaven, we will show you how from God's Word! YOU CAN KNOW FOR SURE!!! (1 John 5:13)

Our Missionaries

What a great Missions Conference we had this past June. God moved in a mighty way as we saw attendance during the meetings between 37 - 44 each night with 13 saved during the week. We had two evangelists, and missionaries to the Jews, US Military, Middle East and a church planter to New York speak during the meetings.  Our people are excited about what God used this young church to accomplish last year and what we expect to see God do this coming year for His Kingdom. Each preacher challenged us to do more for Christ and left us with a burden to reach lost souls wherever they may be. Come help us reach souls for the Lord Jesus. That is the main thing churches are supposed to be focused on anyway.

We currently support:

Jason Owens - Church Planting Pastor, Liberty Baptist Church, Wichita, KS

Caleb Turner - Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Washington, KS

Jeremy Hatch - Independent Baptist Church Builders

Stephen Troell - Missionary to the Middle East

Vito Aomi - Missionary to India & Nepal

Nick Harmon - Church Planter to Long Island, NY

Brett Skillen - Missionary to the United States Military in Germany

Winter Banquet

On Friday, 2/10 we had a church-wide Winter Banquet as a reward for our church distributing more that 15,000 tracts in 2011. We were challenged to pass out 365 tracts (average one tract a day) and several people did that and more. Also, we had a number of our church members begin mailing out tracts to homes in the area. They mailed more than 7,000 tracts  in the last six months of the year alone. It has been exciting seeing our church get on fire passing out the Gospel in booklet form. God sure is good!

Solid Rock Baptist Church has seen more than 175 people saved since the first door was knock in the effort to plant the church. SRBC also has a heart for home and foreign missions which is why the church supports eight missionaries each month.

Come visit our church and meet some of the sweetest people on the planet! You just may find the place the Lord wants you to serve Him!

Baptisms

On December 4th we had 3 more people baptized after our morning service, which brings the total number of baptisms to 25 for 2011. We also had a lady from the area join the church that same evening.

Unlike many other churches, we only baptize people who have made a decision to trust Jesus Christ for salvation (not babies). It is not really baptism unless the individual has made a conscious decision to receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Sprinkling has no spiritual benefit whatsoever! We go to great lengths to teach the truth, that baptism has NO SAVING POWER AT ALL . Many people we meet knocking doors believe they are going to Heaven because they have been baptized. Some have even been baptized in Baptist churches and have never been saved!

The Lord Jesus told a religious leader in John 3:3, " Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Being "born of water" in John 3:5 is referring to the physical birth. The water breaks before the baby is born! Being 'Born Again' has nothing to do with baptism, but is referring to the spiritual birth into the family of God. Being baptized without being 'saved' or 'born again' simply means you got wet! That's all! Ye must be born again!

Souls Saved

Praise the Lord for what He is doing at Solid Rock Baptist Church. We saw the Lord save 63 people in 2010 and have seen 112 saved already in 2011. Soul winning still works! The Gospel of Jesus Christ has not lost Its Power and JESUS STILL SAVES all who come to Him! Our command from Jesus in Luke 14:23 is to " Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

You Are Invited

We are seeing a good number of first time visitors who enjoy the friendly Christian fellowship and encouragement at SRBC. Many in our community and world are searching for truth that they are not finding in other places. The Bible states in 2 Timothy 3:5 that one of the signs of the last days will be people who have a “form of godliness, but denying the power" of God. All around us we see people who think they are going to Heaven, but are denying God’s power to save them through the saving Blood of Jesus. We must let them know that their godliness and good works will not take them to Heaven. Jesus is the only One who saves!

Come see the difference as we make a difference!
